Orange Sports Precinct
Technical Tour One
This project commenced in 2024 and costing $70 million, built on Crown Land that was previously part of an 18-hole golf course. On competition the Sports Precinct will host a synthetic athletics track, a rectangular 15,000 capacity sports stadium and 8 multipurpose sand profile football fields and 3 turf cricket fields. Orange Adventure Playground
Technical Tour Two
Co located with the Orange Botanic Gardens, the playground is a bespoke facility building on the unique character of the site creating an opportunity for everyone to play. The play facility was designed in consultation with the community, retaining elements of the original, 2002, community-built Orange Adventure Playground. With visitation upwards of 150,000 persons per year the playground, opened in early 2025 at a cost of $2.4million, contains a splash park, water play feature and a bespoke climbing and sliding structure.

Orange FOGO (Euchareena Road Resource Recovery Centre)
Technical Tour Three
The Euchareena Road Resource Recovery Centre (ERRRC) is Council’s engineered waste management and compost facility located on Euchareena Road, Molong. Commissioned in 2013, the site comprises multiple lined landfill cells designed to safely receive and manage baled and inert waste under controlled environmental conditions.
A four-tunnel aerobic composting system is co-located on the site where collected Food and Garden organics from Orange is processed into Australian Standard compliant compost and either returned to Orange for re-sale from the Ophir Road Resource Recovery Centre or sold in bulk direct to large scale agricultural or commercial buyers.
The facility operates in accordance with environmental approvals and incorporates engineered systems for leachate management, environmental monitoring, and long‑term site protection. Ongoing development at the site, including the construction of additional landfill cells, supports Council’s long‑term waste management and resource recovery needs.
